Kate Zarrella is a 2012 University of California Davis double honors graduate in English and Psychology. While at UC Davis she wrote a weekly column for the University’s newspaper, The Aggie. During her time working at The Aggie, Otherwords.org also published her column on the campus protests following the pepper spraying of students. Then, she got her first taste of publishing as a marketing and copyediting intern at Reaktion Books in London.
Next, Kate solved problems and created smiles in 140 characters or less as part of Hulu’s social media support team. After three years at Hulu, she decided to expand her horizons, traveling solo through Europe for three months. You can see more of her travels on her blog, Feeling Hostel.
Since then she’s done a variety of freelance writing, social media, graphic design, and editing. Now she’s joined the team at Calling Card Books as the creative director. She specializes in book design, cover design, web design and e-book conversion.
